Abi Hardiman is a London- and Margate-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter. A graduate of the London College of Creative Media (MMus, Distinction), she has built a versatile career as a music educator, community facilitator and performing musician, working across education, live performance and studio settings.
As a percussionist and vocalist, Abi has performed nationally with ensembles such as Rhythms of the City, Light Beats, and Baque Luar, as well as leading her own band MASIBA. Alongside this, she has contributed as a topline writer and session vocalist for artists and library music, with releases on EMI Production Music and collaborations with SONLIFE and SHURK.
Abi is now developing her first solo body of work, drawing on her background in rhythm, harmony and storytelling to create music that blends percussive energy with atmospheric, vocal-driven soundscapes.

Abiβs debut solo work explores multi-instrumental performance and layered vocal textures. Currently in the writing and pre-production stage, it represents her transition from ensemble work to establishing herself as a solo artist.
π MASIBA β Band Leader, Songwriter, Musical Director
A five-piece collective merging trip-hop, ambient, and indie influences. Abi leads on songwriting, vocals, guitar, and synths. MASIBA have performed widely across the UK, crafting an immersive live sound rooted in groove and atmosphere.

Abiβs newest project, blending DJ/live performance and percussion for high-energy events and corporate bookings. The act combines live percussion, vocals, and electronic elements to create dynamic, danceable shows.

LIVE & PERFORMANCE WORK
Light Beats β LED drumming ensemble performing at corporate events, community festivals (e.g. Granary Square Halloween) and private functions. Roles include logistics, costuming and team coordination.
Rhythms of the City β Samba ensemble (8 years) performing nationally at clubs, parades and festivals. Percussionist and vocalist; collaborated with Mandinga Arts on youth carnival projects.
Baque Luar β Afro-Brazilian percussion and vocal group blending rhythm, harmony and movement. Regular UK performances and community engagement work.
Big Ben Jorge β 1970s Brazilian psych/funk band; percussionist and backing vocalist performing across the UK and European festivals.

TEACHING & COMMUNITY PRACTICE
Abi has over a decade of experience teaching voice, piano, guitar, bass, and musicianship through institutions including Harris Academy Greenwich, Musico South, Piano Fun Club, Penguin School of Music, and North London Music Academy.
Her community-based projects focus on inclusive access to music, including:
